Like most of our media-inspired interests and worries, however, this one has little basis in reality.    Granted, our investment in military and anti-terrorism programs could be reducing the number of deaths by terrorism. However, this article does point out a fatal human tendency: we fear big flashy causes of death, instead of the everyday causes which kill most of us in the end. This can cause us to make faulty decisions.
